Hola What’s Hot Fam,

Now that Broccoli City has officially announced the lineup and return of its annual music festival, a well-known Morgan State University Alumni is hopeful for sunny skies ahead of his set.

The Broccoli City Festival, a two-day event on July 27 and 28, will be newly hosted at Audi Field in Washington D.C. Dwight Flowers better known as DJ Flow is excited to hit the big stage and see some of the headlining vocalists.

“I love the environment, the show and meeting new people,” the Brooklyn, New York native revealed as he marveled on the meaning of performing at the festival for a third time. “For me, it’s a reminder that I’m moving in the right space. It lets me know my work in the community and supporting artists doesn’t go unnoticed. I love the staff and what the festival stands for and it’s a perfect marriage.”

On March 18, Broccoli City, a community organization founded by Brandon McEachern, Marcus Allen, and Darryl Perkins, announced presale tickets and it’s festival hosts and performers. Headliners include Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sexxy Red and Victoria Monét.

“I’m a huge PARTYNEXTDOOR fan, so I can’t wait to see him and Victoria Monét. Seeing her live is going to make me happy,” said Flowers, who also highlighted the event as a great time to support local businesses and artists and discover new talent.

With 15 years of disc jockey experience, Flow has already begun preparing for his Broccoli City set and has even shared some tips and teased some surprises for the audience.

“I will be getting a lot of rest for sure. Also, I put together a team for content. I will have correspondents for my Flow Show Network. I also have to find outfits for both days and [put] together a dope show for the people,” he said. “If you’re coming to the show stay hydrated please, brings towel, allergy medicine, wear comfortable shoes, & come with people who you won’t lose in the crowd. As for as any exclusives, I can’t give up the secrets, but just know I’m showing love to a lot of local artists. “

Dj Flow has made quite a name for himself off of the Broccoli City stage as well. His resumé features every thing from sets at his al ma matter Morgan State University to DJing in front of 80,000 people in Ghana. In addition, he’s known for his years of working with Washington, D.C. rapper Shy Glizzy. A career highlight for Flow is fostering the “Bird Flu Remix” featuring the “Awwsome” rapper by the late Lor Scoota.

“Every area has a main festival and now we have something,” said Flow about the importance of Broccoli City to the DMV. “Artists are able to [share] their message.”
