Hola What’s Hot Fam,
POV: You’re a budding actor/actress, and you’ve just been offered a role in a film alongside a few legendary comedians. The catch? You have to appear to let one of those comedians “blah” on your face during a sex scene. Would you take the role?
For Tiffany Haddish, the answer was hell no.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian recalled getting this exact offer for a role in Chris Rock’s 2014 film “Top Five”.
“You know, when I first hit the scene, I was offered a lot of roles where they want you to expose your breasts,” Haddish replied during a conversation about her experience as a woman in Hollywood.
“I remember that movie that Chris Rock did [‘Top Five’] and it’s like he meets the two girls and they have a threesome and then Cedric [the Entertainer] gets in there and he’s supposed to ‘blah’ all over their faces — just let that baby batter go all up in their face. And it was like, ‘Tiffany, they’re offering you the role.’ And I was like, ‘I don’t want that role. I’m a stand-up comedian and I don’t let people do that in my face in real life, so why would I do it in this movie?’ Like, you ought to have a little bit of respect for me, period. God made this face for a reason, and you’re not going to disrespect it.”
Furthermore, the “Girls Trip” star went on to emphasize that she stands firm in her beliefs. She even went as far as to say that anyone who has a problem with those beliefs can kick rocks.
“I feel like sometimes my representation tries to get me to go outside my lane, and if it is against my morals — and I do have some, I know I’m a little wild, but I do have standards — then somebody might get fired,” she sounded. “It’s like, I’m a company, I’m a brand, and if you try to go against the policy of the company, you might not need to be working here anymore. So my people, we have weekly conversations about where I’m at mentally, what I want to do. And right now, almost everything I’m doing, I’m producing.”
The Neighborhood Talk shared this story on their Instagram account, which earned a reply from reality star Karlie Redd, who accepted the risqué role. The “Love & Hip Hop” star dubbed Haddish’s reaction as being extra since the “action” scenes were played by look-a-likes.
Redd further commented, “That Part Was Not in the Movie! Go Look at it! I also had 2 stunt doubles for the sexy part! Came in on the speaking roles. Go look at it so I can residual check 👏🏽”.
As it turns out, she’s not lying. No one had ejaculation on their face in this movie. And yes, I checked.
Don’t believe me? Look for yourself. (23:44)
Although, personally, I still think I might be with Haddish on this one. I’m not sure I’d want to make my debut on the big screen as the most “disgusting thing” Chris Rock has ever seen. “Baby batter” facial or not.
