Netflix’s ‘The Kissing Booth 2’: Trailer, Plot and Cast

Hola What’s Hot Fam,

Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth 2 ” returns with quirky teen Elle Evans. She seems to have found herself in another entanglement despite the success of her once-forbidden relationship with her best friend’s brother, Noah. Here’s a look at the trailer, plot and cast of the sequel.

Trailer
Plot

“Elle Evans (Joey King) just had the most romantic summer of her life with her  reformed bad-boy boyfriend Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi). But now Noah is off to Harvard, and Elle heads back to high school for her senior year,” a synopsis for the film reads. “She’ll have to juggle a long-distance relationship, getting into her dream college with her best friend Lee (Joel Courtney), and the complications brought on by a close friendship with a handsome, charismatic new classmate named Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez). When Noah grows close to a seemingly-perfect college girl (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Elle will have to decide how much she trusts him and to whom her heart truly belongs.”

Cast

The leading cast includes Joey King (Elle Evans), Joel Courtney (Lee Flynn ), Jacob Elordi (Noah Flynn), Taylor Zakhar Perez (Marco) and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Chloe).

The Kissing Booth premiered on Netflix on May 11, 2018. To both Netflix’s and the cast’s surprise it became Netflix’s most re-watched original film that year, the streaming service reports.

Joey King

“I think that people were kind of craving that classic John Hughes feel-good movie, and there hasn’t been a lot of that,” King told Variety regarding the success of the first film. “When ‘The Kissing Booth’ came out, it just ticked all those boxes of that feel-good summery vibe. Our characters, the way they were written, they talk like real people. My character Elle, she’s not the outcast or the popular girl. She’s just a girl that goes to school, and has some friends, has a best friend. I think what resonates so much about her is that she’s just your every girl.”

The actress, who executive produced the film’s sequel, is also known for her roles in the Hulu series “The Act” and the film “Ramona and Beezus.” Horror film lovers may also recognize her from “Slender Man” and “The Conjuring.”

Joel Courtney

Her co-star Courtney, has appeared in films such as “Super 8,” “F*&% the Prom” and “Assimilate”. Furthermore, the actor recently addressed the possibility of a romance between their characters in any future “Kissing Booth” movies.

“I don’t think that they could ever be together romantically. Their relationship goes beyond the need for a physical element to it,” Courteney told Us Weekly. “They’re soulmates. They’re best friends. They’re linked in a way that very few people are on the entire planet. They have such a deep love and caring and affection for each other, but there’s no passion toward the physical side of it. And they really are like twins — they’re like siblings more than anything.”

Sorry, #TEAMELLEE.

Jacob Elordi

On the other hand, Elordi, who had the pleasure of dating his love interest in real life, has also starred in the HBO series “Euphoria”, and the film “Swinging Safari”. And, although things between himself and King didn’t end with a happily ever after, he’s pretty confident their “Kissing Booth” characters are meant to be, no matter how the sequel ends.

“Yeah, why not? I think so,” Elordi told ET regarding a happy ending between Elle and Noah. “I reckon, I would say so.”
