The season of giving is here! Whether they’re an influencer, artist, or a selfie-junkie, what better way to show your support than with a special gift. Here are a few holiday gift ideas for the social media-lovers in your life:
something from their favorite Influencer
If your friend loves social media, it’s likely that they have at least one influencer they’re practically in love with also. Fortunately, a lot of influencers are either business owners, offer exclusive products through a major brand or sell merch for their fans. Purchasing an item from your friend’s favorite influencer for them is sure to bring them some holiday cheer!
However, if you don’t know who their favorite content creator is, don’t give up. Think about their interests or niche. For example, if he or she loves self-care consider purchasing them another influencer’s candles or e-journal.
Or if the person is into beauty, you can purchase them something from a new beauty line or collaboration.
These gifts will not only prove functional, but will give them an opportunity to network with other influencers or social media lovers. Sharing photos or content regarding products and tagging the face of the respective brand is a great way to start conversation and boost engagement. Suggest this to them and think of it as two gifts in one!
Selfie Kit
We all know that one person who can’t go anywhere without getting a fire picture of their look of the night. ( I am her. She is me.) So why not give them something that takes their photo opps to the next level? There are so many inexpensive media kits out there it’s crazy!
Personally, I love the tripod and bluetooth remote I purchased on Amazon for just $22! It’s easily transportable, lightweight and allows me to take all my photos on my own. It’s also compatible with both iPhones and Androids! However, there are other kits that include mobile ring lights and vlogging gear. No matter which you choose, it’s the perfect holiday gift for any photo junkie!
Book Regarding Social Media or marketing
What better gift for a business owner or an aspiring influencer looking to grow their following than knowledge. There is so much great information out there and a lot of it is lying around in books!
Two of my favorite books include Crushing It! by Gary Vaynerchuk, a book about building your influence, which was actually gifted to me, and Influencer by Brittany Hennessy, a guide to “building your personal brand in the age of social media.”
On the fast growing-app club house, I also heard a marketing expert recommend Show Your Work! by Austin Kleon, which explains how you can use ideas from the “movers and shakers” around you. Check your local book store for more options or take advantage of hashtags on Instagram to find new authors promoting their work.
App Subscription
An easy way to gift an app subscription is to purchase an iTunes or Google store gift card and write the intended use for the amount inside a card! If you don’t know what apps they use you could even make a note recommending apps like Canva, Face Tune, Loopsie and more to take their content creation to the next level.
If you’d like to keep the exchange virtual, Apple also allows you to send a gift card by email straight from the App Store. Here’s how you do it:
- Open the App Store
- Click the apps icon at the bottom of your screen
- Click Your Apple ID photo at the top right of the screen
- Select “Send Gift Card by Email”
- Enter the dollar amount and add a message
- Send!
Content Planner
A content planner is a great gift for the new marketing professional or the busy digital artist. It’s a great way to show your support for the individual’s craft and gives them something they can start using just in time for the new year. You can gift a digital content planner or a physical one!
If you’re really close to the person and have a bigger budget, consider gifting a “Million Dollar Planner” from Marketing by Monrae, which starts at $75. Many of hand-held planners also come with stickers, which definitely make planning a bit more fun. You can also find one unique to the person’s style whether that be compact with floral designs or a hard cover with earth tones.

Get creative and design a hat or shirt with the person’s username on it! It’s the perfect secret santa gift and many companies will even let you expedite your order so that special someone can get it just in time for Christmas.
