After the devastating loss of her son, Ian Alexander Jr., in 2022, Regina King dedicates her latest film, Shirley, to him. Alongside her sister Reina King, Regina co-produced and stars in the biographical film about Shirley Chisholm. Chisholm made “a trailblazing run for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination after becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress.” Here are a few things you should know about Shirley, which is now available to stream on Netflix.
