Hola What’s Hot Fam,
If anyone knows about haters, it’s Jesus of Nazareth.
From Romans to Pharisees, Jesus’ enemies began to unify in Season 4 of The Chosen.
“Clashing kingdoms. Rival rulers. The enemies of Jesus close in while His followers struggle to keep up, leaving Him to carry the burden alone,” a synopsis for the series reads. “Threatened by the reality of Jesus’ growing influence, religious leaders do the unthinkable—ally with their Roman oppressors. As the seeds of betrayal are planted and opposition to Jesus’ message turns violent, He’s left with no alternative but demand his followers RISE UP.”
Season 4 of The Chosen begins its theatrical rollout on February 1 in biweekly three-episode increments. The two-week run of Episodes 1-3 will be followed by Episodes 4-6 in theaters on February 15, and Episodes 7-8 beginning February 29 via Fathom Events in the U.S. and Canada.
“Last year we dipped our toes in the water by releasing a few episodes in theaters. The response was so strong, and Season Four is so big, that we knew we and Fathom had to give viewers the theatrical experience for all eight episodes,” said creator and director Dallas Jenkins in a press release.
Following the theatrical run, The Chosen will announce its debut across streaming and linear TV platforms, as well as The Chosen TV and mobile apps. “The show is on pace to be the most translated series in history, as the first three seasons will soon be available in 50 languages with plans to subtitle in more than 600.”
Originally a crowd-funded project, The Chosen takes place in first-century Israel amid Roman oppression. The show takes viewers on the journey of Jesus’ ministry through intricately webbed stories of those who followed him. In addition to the free The Chosen app, previous episodes of the series are also available on Amazon Prime and Netflix.
