Grab your tater tots and hold your heads…Venom is back for a third installment.
The Venom: The Last Dance trailer teases fans with familiar faces and humor, and exciting new stand-offs. Tom Hardy reclaims his role as Eddie Brock for what Sony Entertainment portrays as the end-of-the-line journey with his symbiote friend. However, the question remains: Will Spider-Man and Venom’s worlds collide?
“Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance,” a synopsis for the film reads.
There’s no official word from Sony or Hardy on whether or not Tom Holland’s character Peter Parker will be in Venom 3, but fans suspect he will be.
“I think Spider-Man will be in it but like at the end agree looks like a great movie I been hearing they are making a Spider-Man vs Venom movie ❤️💙🕷️🕸️⚫️🖤 so Spider-Man should be in like credit scene,” an Instagram user commented under a post of the trailer.
Marvel is known for throwing in teaser scenes following its films’ closing credits. The meeting of Spider-man and Venom was teased in the post-credit scenes of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” As a result of the blip (Avengers: The End Game), the duo was teleported to a different universe and saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker on a Daily Bugle newscast. However, in “No Way Home,” Eddie snaps back to his universe, but leaves behind a piece of his symbiote.
Although there’s no cameo of Spider-Man in the trailer, it seems unlikely that this part of the storyline will go unaddressed.
Venom: The Last Dance also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.
Venom: The Last Dance releases in theaters on October 25.
