Grab your ukuleles and get ready—Disney is officially giving Lilo & Stitch the live-action treatment! And it’s set to make our hearts flutter all over again this year. Fans of the 2002 animated original are excited, and this reimagining seems to be holding onto the “ohana” spirit while giving Stitch a fresh CGI look.
Disney’s 2025 Lilo & Stitch remake stays loyal to the heart of the 2002 animated classic, bringing the Hawaiian warmth and intergalactic charm to a new generation. The story follows Lilo, an expressive and lonely little girl living on the island of Kauai with her older sister, Nani. Things take a wild turn when she adopts what she thinks is a dog… but it turns out to be Experiment 626, aka Stitch—a blue alien created for the sole purpose of destruction.
From surfboards and Elvis songs to hula and plenty of heartfelt moments, the live-action version appears to bring Stitch to life while keeping the original film’s emotional depth and humor intact.
