Hola What’s Hot Fam,
Would you trust someone (or in this case, something ) who tried to kill you if they could potentially stop a bigger threat? That’s the decision Gemma and Cady make in M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to the A.I. horror film that debuted in 2022.
M3GAN 2.0 Plot
Two years after M3GAN’s deadly dance break and A.I. crashout, things seemed to have calmed down. Gemma (Allison Williams) has turned lemons into lemonade by writing books and pushing for more government control over artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) is now a sassy 14 year old and giving Aunty Gemma a run for her money.
As they redefine normal for their lives, the duo learn that someone has stolen M3GAN’s original blueprint and used it to build a next-level killing machine named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno). She’s a grown-up, military-grade, killer robot with no rails. With the fate of humanity on the line, Gemma decides to do the unthinkable: bring M3GAN back, give her a glow-up, and let her handle the mess. It’s A.I. vs A.I., and this time, it’s personal!
Although, I personally don’t know if bringing an upgraded M3GAN that remembers her killing spree would have been my first choice, I can’t deny that it makes for good entertainment.

For M3GAN 2.0, Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprise their roles from the original film, while Amie Donald and Jenna Davis return to bring M3GAN to life physically and vocally, respectively. Ivanna Sakhno joins the cast as Amelia, a new character introduced in this sequel. Additional cast members include Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement.

In the trailer for M3GAN 2.0, viewers get a glimpse of Gemma, Cady, and M3GAN’s new life. Gemma is using her near-death experience to educate others. Cady is clearly growing up, and her killer guardian robot is confined to a mini “plastic teletubby.” Seconds in, we’re introduced to Amelia, a robot-gone-rogue that was built by stealing Gemma’s tech plan for M3GAN. Cady advocates for M3GAN to be given a second chance, as she may be the only one able to stop Amelia and save the world. After a few requests and eerie quotes, M3GAN is given her body back, but this time, she’s taller, faster and wittier than ever.
“But one thing hasn’t changed: I will do whatever it takes to protect Cady.”
M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters on June 27, 2025.
